To assist with your development proposals, you can contact us for pre-application advice. This may include a discussion, meeting, site visit or letter from a planning officer, dependent on the scale of proposed development.

We believe that providing high-quality pre-application advice is essential to ensuring quality in the formal decision-making process. In order to sustain and improve our pre-application service, we have a range of charges.

The charges apply to most types of development, with the exception of householder developments, for businesses within St Helens town centre and advice given over the telephone for straightforward development proposals. The charges and exemptions are stated in the schedule below, as are the service standards for giving advice.
