Family entertainment centre gaming machine permit

If you want to run a family entertainment centre or amusement arcade with unlimited category D gaming machines, you will need to apply for a permit.

Premises with up to two gaming machines

Pubs and some other licensed premises have an automatic entitlement to one or two Category C or D gaming machines, subject a notification procedure.

To apply for a permit to supply up to two gaming machines on your premises you will need to complete the application form (PDF) [250KB] (opens new window) and return it to us with the relevant fee (payable by card over the phone).

Premises with more than two gaming machines

Pubs and other licensed premises that want to offer more than two gaming machines need to apply to us for a licensed premises gaming machine permit under the Gambling Act 2005.

Prize gaming permit

If you want to run a premises with facilities for gaming with prizes, you can apply for a prize gaming permit. However, you will not be required to have a prize gaming permit if the premises already holds either a gambling premises licence or a club gaming permit.

To apply for a prize gaming permit you will need to complete the application form and return it to us with the relevant fee (payable by card over the phone).
