Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information we collect about you and how we will use your email/telephone number if you have chosen to provide it.

How do we store your data?

We store your survey/evaluation data on an internal database which is maintained within the UK.

We store your email data on a third-party web placed platform called Dot Digital which is compliant with General Data Protection Regulations.

1) What information do we collect about you?

We collect:

  • Demographic information for research purposes only.
  • Gender, age, ethnicity, and disability information is optional and will be used for research purposes only. The legal basis for this processing is research and statistical in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulations.
  • Your email address and/or telephone number (if you provide it for one of the purposes set out in the survey). The legal basis for processing your name and contact details is consent in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulations

2) How will we use the information about you?

Anything you tell us will be kept confidential and will only be used for the purpose of evaluating the Arts in Libraries NPO programme.

The information you provide will be collated with the findings from other survey participants and held by St Helens Council.

Any detailed personal information you provide (gender, age, ethnicity, disability) will not be used to identify you as an individual and will not be stored alongside your postcode or your email address or telephone number (if provided).

We will also share this anonymised data with Wonder Arts for their own evaluation purposes. St Helens Borough Council and Wonder Arts will have a data sharing agreement in place before any data is shared with the organisation, in line with the privacy policy set out in this document.

If you have provided your email address, it will only be used for the reasons set out in the survey that you agreed to as part of the survey.

If you have subscribed to the Arts Ezine we will use your email address to send you the Arts Ezine to tell you about events, activities, and library services we think may be of interest to you.

St Helens Borough Council Arts Service will NOT share your information for marketing or service information purposes with:

  • Other St Helens Council departments
  • Organisations / companies outside of St Helens Borough Council
  • Individuals

3) How long will we keep your email and/or telephone contact details for?

If you have provided your email and/or telephone only for the purposes of the Prize Draw, it will be deleted once the Prize Draw has been held.

If you have consented to receive the Arts Service Ezine, you may opt out at any time. You can also view and amend at any time the information that we hold on to. There is a link in each Ezine which enables you to unsubscribe from the Ezine or to amend your details.

4) Your Rights

If you have provided your email address, you have the right to withdraw your consent and ask us to delete your information from our records.

You have the right to request a copy of any information we hold about you.

You have the right to ask us to update your details if they are out of date or inaccurate.

5) St Helens Borough Council's Data Protection Officer

The council has a Data Protection Officer who has overall responsibility for data protection in the council and acts in an independent manner in line with legislation. The council's Data Protection Officer can be contacted via email at dataprotection@sthelens.gov.uk.

6) Your right to complain

If you are unhappy with how we are processing your data you can, in the first instance, raise this concern with the Data Protection Officer.
