The list of works is not exhaustive so please contact us to discuss.

Our handyman service and care & repair service are also available for odd jobs around the house.

Some of these services are free of charge if the referral is made by a health professional but we would advise you to call us 01744 676555 to discuss your options with us.

Care and repair

If you need a trade person (for example, a plumber or electrician) to carry out work in your home, we can offer practical help and support you through the entire process. We cannot pay for building or repair works but we can help you to avoid rogue traders.

The types of work that we commonly deal with are listed below, but this is by no means an exhaustive list:

  • Roofs, gutters and drains
  • New windows and doors (or repairs to existing)
  • Electrics, heating and plumbing
  • Gardening and decorating

Adaptations

If you, or someone living with you, has a disability and they are assessed by an occupational therapist as needing an adaptation, we may be able to assist you with the cost.

Following your assessment, the council will decide if it will support the recommended adaptation and if so, we will progress your application for a disabled facilities grant.

The type of work undertaken includes improving access to, from and around your home, access to the garden, bathroom adaptations, lifts and hoists.

Please call Contact Cares to arrange an assessment on 01744 676767.
