Young Persons Guarantee
What is the Young Persons Guarantee (YPG)?

The YPG programme is designed specifically to assist young people, 18-24, who live in St Helens borough, into employment.

Are you willing to:

  • employ a young person who is looking to work, for a minimum of 26 weeks
  • pay at least National Minimum Wage
  • prepare young people for the world of work by providing a supportive and encouraging workplace environment that meets the needs of the individual

What is available on YPG for my business?

A grant of £3000 split into £500 monthly increments is available to local businesses who employ a participant under the  Young Persons Guarantee over 6 months. This grant can you used to fund the participants salary, pay for training, buying equipment related to the role etc.

The YPG program is designed to assist a Young Person (18-24 years). We currently have a cohort of young people who fit the criteria for YPG who the team are working with. The reasons for the young person being unemployed can be anything from no experience, to confidence issues or simply their applications being lost under the more qualified applicants.

As we will be working with the young person, they will be supported into and throughout their role, giving you and the participant an extra layer of support.
