The meeting will be filled with reflections from her fellow councillors on her 30 years of dedicated service for her constituents, and the many roles she has played as a cabinet member, scrutiny chair and Deputy Mayor of St Helens Borough.

It will take place at 12pm at St Helens Town Hall on Thursday 24th October, before Councillor Maloney's funeral takes place at St Helens Crematorium and will end with attendees coming together on Victoria Square to meet the funeral procession as it passes the town hall on its journey.

Council Leader Councillor Anthony Burns said: "This will be a really emotional meeting for all of us who have worked alongside Linda over the years but is an important civic event for us to come together as one to pay our respects to a much-loved member of our council. There are so many wonderful stories I'm sure we'll hear about her passion for our borough and the wise words she has passed on to so many of her colleagues thanks to her 30 years of public service for our residents. It is fitting that we will end the meeting in Victoria Square to meet the funeral procession as Linda's final journey comes past a place that played such a crucial role in her life."

The meeting will be streamed live online and it can be viewed online: Council committee information - St Helens Borough Council
