Resident Parking Zone: Carer Permits

A Resident Parking Scheme is defined as:

· An urban area where long-term, on-street parking by non-residents prevents residents from parking near their property for most of the working day (typically 8am-6pm, Monday to Saturday, though times may vary by scheme).

· An area of sufficient size to minimise displacement into surrounding streets.

· A location where a large proportion of properties do not have off-street parking or the ability to install it.

· A scheme that includes provision for visitors.

About the Scheme:

St Helens Borough Council administers several Resident Parking Zones across the borough. Permits are issued via an online application process, as part of the Council's modernisation programme. This system makes it easier and quicker to:

· Apply for a Carer Permit

· Amend an existing permit

Carer Permits

We now offer Carer Permits to employees of care providers, enabling them to park within Resident Parking Zones while delivering essential care.

If you work for a care provider and visit clients within the Council's Resident Parking Zones, you may be eligible to apply.

· Carer Permits allow parking within Resident Parking Zones while undertaking care duties.

· Strict eligibility criteria apply.

· You must upload a proof of employment document (provided by your employer) during the application process.

How to Apply
