T.A.N.G.O. Community Project at St Marks Centre, Haydock
T.A.N.G.O. Community Project is an intentional Outreach Project of St Marks Church, Haydock. We run a community cafe, second hand clothing shop and a furniture and homeware warehouse. The warehouse and shop operate entirely on donations from the public (so far this year we have processed over 56 metric tonnes of unwanted second-hand items, sorted it and re-distributed it back to the community where needed. We accept St Helens vouchers for people who access the St Helens Council welfare scheme, and we also operate a giving policy in cases of great need where funding is not available. The T.A.N.G.O. Community Cafe in the St Marks Centre on Park Street is the hub of community. We have a lovely menu provided to the public and we keep the food costs as low as possible, we promote healthy community spirit and togetherness and are inclusive to all guests.
This year we opened a Food Pantry which has been hugely successful, and we see growth in Food Pantry members week on week, we are helping to reduce costs of the weekly shop. Our pantry is available to anyone living or working in Haydock and Blackbrook, or if you have a child that goes to school in the area, or you worship in St Marks Church.
