Supplementary Planning Documents under preparation

Scoping Consultation and SEA and HRA Screening for new SPDs 

St Helens Borough Council is currently in the process of preparing a number of new Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs). The SPDs will provide detailed guidance on the interpretation and implementation of policies within the St Helens Borough Local Plan up to 2037 (2022). Once adopted the SPDs will carry full weight as material considerations in the determination of planning applications.

The council is seeking comments on the proposed scope of the SPDs from technical stakeholders. The responses to this technical stakeholder scoping consultation will then inform the preparation of draft SPDs, which will be subject to public consultation later in the year.

Specific consultation questions have been included at the end of the Scoping Reports and within the corresponding Comments Forms. Answering the questions in Section 5 is optional and the council will also accept other forms of written response. Comments can be submitted by email or by post to:
