Wopps Fest 2026

We are delighted to let you know that our first ever Wopps Fest will be taking place in June. Your child currently takes part in weekly instrumental lessons, alongside their classmates, on a chosen instrument. These sessions are called Wider Opportunities (Wopps) and are designed to ensure that every child in our borough has access to a high-quality music education and the chance to learn an instrument.

Our hope is that by the end of Year 4, your child will feel inspired to continue learning their instrument through small group lessons during the school day. If your child continues to learn a musical instrument, they will also have the opportunity to join our Beginner Orchestra from September 2026.

The children have worked incredibly hard throughout the year, and we are thrilled to give them their first opportunity to perform at the Town Hall. St Helens Music Service tutors have been teaching a shared programme of music to classes across schools in St Helens, and all participating children will come together to perform in this wonderful setting.
