What we do
The Music Service provides a wide range of activities and opportunities that seek to encourage all children and young people to participate, enjoy and achieve through music.
We provide high-quality music education and performance opportunities that awaken and nurture talent and creativity, build self-esteem, and bring the joy of music to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
All Music Service programmes and projects can help schools embed music-making into their own curriculum as well as offer school development plans and support towards inspection and external accreditation. The Music Service is proud to be an Artsmark Supporter and Partner organisation.
What do we do?
We are the lead partner in the St Helens Music Education Hub and a key member of the Merseyside Music Education Hub Alliance. Through these we seek to improve the music-making opportunities for all children and young people across the city region both by our own activities but also through the range of external partners and additional funding we can bring together. Similarly, we play a key role in the St Helens Cultural Education Partnership, CulturEd.
The Music Service provides instrumental and vocal tuition in and out of schools across St Helens as well as through our Music Centre base at St Helens Town Hall, where we also run a wide variety of bands, choirs, ensembles and specialist classes.
As a music service we aim to make music accessible to all. Please read our remissions policy to see if your child is eligible for help with their fees.
For more information or if you'd like to know more about any of our schemes, concerts or lessons, or how the Music Service can support and enhance the delivery of the music curriculum in your school, then please get in touch. We are always happy to help!
