Pay your business rates

Pay by Direct Debit

For monthly instalments, choose to pay on the 5th, 14th, 21st or 28th of the month. 

A weekly option (on a Friday) is available, to arrange this please download and return a completed  Direct Debit form (PDF) [138KB]

Debit/Credit Card

Automated telephone - 0300 456 0492, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Online at www.sthelens.gov.uk/pay  - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Telephone - by calling the Contact Centre on 01744 676789 from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and 10am to 2pm on a Saturday.
In person - at the Contact Centre or St Helens Libraries (credit and debit card only).

You will need your nine-digit account reference number.

At a Post Office

Payment can be made at any post office by cash, cheque or debit card. You will need a bill/document with a barcode for this service. Cheques should be made payable to 'Post Office Ltd'. There is currently a post office limit of £999 for any single transaction.

At at Payzone Outlet

Payment can be made at any Payzone Outlet by cash. You will need a bill/document with a barcode for this service.

By post

Payment can be sent through the post by cheque or postal order. Cheques should be made payable to "St Helens Council" and crossed A/C Payee. Please send a copy pf your bill with your cheque or quote your account number on the back of the cheque.

By standing order

Payments may be made by standing order but these will be due by 14th of the month. You must arrange this yourself and supply your own stationery.

Please ensure that all payments are received by the council on or before the due date. Payments made at the Post Office, at a Payzone outlet or by standing order can take up to five working days to come through to your business rates account.
