St Helens Borough Council has responsibility for managing civil parking enforcement and is committed to ensuring everyone who lives, works or visits the borough benefits from a safe, cleaner, less congested environment.

The council employs civil enforcement officers to ensure compliance with waiting, loading and parking restrictions by issuing Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles observed to be parked in contravention.

Parking enforcement forms part of the council's wider transport strategy.

Please think before you park.

Verges and pavements are part of the public highway; therefore, parking on a verge or pavement in order to avoid parking on a restriction is still a contravention.

Always remember to check the signs and road markings before you park.

Receiving a Penalty Charge Notice

Don't ignore it; the amount payable may increase if you do not pay or challenge the ticket promptly.

Under no circumstances should you pay the Civil Enforcement Officer.
