Our mission statement

St Helens Borough Council, working alongside various charities and external agencies, thrives to make the borough a safe place for refugees and asylum seekers by:

• Encourage community cohesion by helping foster positive relationships between the local community, newly resettled families and individuals.
• Supporting the whole community by treating everyone with dignity and respect to support community cohesion.
• Empowering new arrivals in the borough to be self-sufficient so that they can be recognised as valuable contributors to the community and the economy.
• Seeking to address gaps in service delivery through support networks by quickly addressing unmet and emerging needs.
