Applying for secondary school for September 2027

If your child turns 11 between 1 September 2026 and 31 August 2027, he or she will transfer to secondary school in September 2027.  From Monday 6 September the website www.sthelens.gov.uk/admissions is open for parents who wish to apply online.

You will be notified on 1 March 2027 confirming your child's school place.

The closing date for you to submit your application is 31 October 2026.

Please note:  From 2026/2027 if you are naming De La Salle, St Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Academy or St Cuthbert's Catholic Academy as a preference, you will need to complete and submit the school's supplementary form in addition to you online application.  Supplementary Forms can be downloaded from the school's website or you can request one from the school office.

Before submitting your application, please read the Secondary Admissions Booklet (PDF, 4 MB) which contains useful information about the application process, including: how places will be allocated, definition of home address and how late applications will be dealt with. (The Secondary Admissions Booklet for 2027/2028 is not yet available but will be uploaded onto the website in due course).
