The routine, scheduled works began yesterday (Monday 25 April) and will take approximately three weeks to complete, weather dependent.

A cherry picker will be used to access the upper reaches of the sculpture and clean the surface with high-temperature, low pressure steam.

The sculpture will also benefit from graffiti removal and protection, treatment of mould growth and minor remedial works to the base of the structure and the surrounding plinth.

The sculpture will be fenced off around the plinth for the duration of the works, and a temporary welfare cabin erected for maintenance workers close to the entrance on Jubits Lane, opposite Bell Lane.

There will be no impact on public access or footpaths in Bold Forest Park, though visitors to Dream must remain outside the fenced area for their safety.
