Here is your chance! St Helens Borough Council's Bereavement Services are holding an open day on Saturday 25 June to help raise public awareness about bereavement and the services available to local people.

Meet with the Bereavement Services team, the Friends of St Helens Cemetery and other partners.

Residents can take part in a tour of the crematorium and cemetery, hear about their history and also browse the exhibits and stands available on the day.

Councillor Andy Bowden, St Helens Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport, said:

"St Helens Cemetery and Crematorium are among our greatest assets, from the building's striking structure and heritage, with its many original features including the beautiful 'dalle de verre' stained glass, to its green and picturesque, well-maintained grounds, and the nationally recognised service we provide in the borough - having twice won Silver in the Cemetery of the Year awards.

"Bereavement and death can be such difficult things to talk about so it's vital that we try to create opportunities to open up these conversations in meaningful ways.

"We'd love for residents to come along to this open day, speak to our welcoming staff and partners, and see first-hand the scale of the modernisation and the investment we've made in the service's future."

Drop in between 10am-3pm on Saturday 25 June.
