Hydrogen bin lorry naming competition: terms and conditions

  • This competition is open to children in school year 5 or year 6 who attend a primary school in St Helens Borough
  • Entries to be submitted by email
  • Only one entry will be allowed per child
  • Any drawings or names that could cause offence will be excluded
  • The competition will close at midnight on 15 November 2022, and winners will be contacted by 1 December 2022
  • Winning entries will be selected by St Helens Borough Council
  • The selection decisions are final, and we will not enter into correspondence
  • The winning child's school will be notified through the contact method provided - either email or phone
  • We will make 3 attempts to contact the winners and if a response is not received within 3 working days, an alternative entry will be selected
  • By submitting an entry to the competition, permission is given for St Helens Borough Council to reproduce the design and name on a new bin lorry, along with your first name and the name of your school, and to also use the picture to promote this event
  • The winning children may be asked if they are willing to take part in publicity - including a photograph or video - for the outcome of the competition
  • All personal data collected will be held by St Helens Borough Council and will not be used for any other purposes other than administrating this competition. The data held by the council will be destroyed within 4 weeks of the conclusion of the competition
  • Entries will not be returned
  • The competition will be governed by English law
