Addition to 2022/23 Fleet Replacement Programme
To include addition vehicle to the 2022/23 fleet replacement programme - 2012, diesel Land Rover Evoque
To amend the 2022/23 fleet replacement programme to include an additional vehicle - 2012 diesel Land Rover Evoque, which is to be replaced with a new or pre-registered zero emission vehicle of similar specification. Delegate the responsible for the final selection and procurement of the vehicle to the Director of Operation, in conjunction with service user and Assistant Director (Environment and Operation).
As part of the councils Net Zero carbon commitment where possible the council is endeavouring to purchase vehicles with the lowest carbon impact, thus the suggestion would be that when the vehicle is replacement it should be replaced with a fully electric or hydrogen vehicle. Making this commitment with this car would also demonstrate the Councils commitment to it Net Zero strategy. The Council currently purchases all of it vehicles outright as this allows vehicles to be depreciated on a flexible / longer period, reduces the cost in terms of financing, resale income and remove cost end of lease costs.
Replace the current vehicle as soon as possible with a pre-registered vehicle, this to be funded via underspend in the 2022/23 fleet replacement programme. Delegate the responsible for the final selection and procurement of the vehicle to the Director of Operation, in conjunction with service user and Assistant Director (Environment and Operation).
Additional costs in maintenance and hire due to the age of the vehicle and possible reputation lost if the vehicle failed whilst in service.
