Leisure fees and charges increases from January 2023
Introduction of selected fees and charges increases at the Council's Go Active Leisure Centres from 2nd January 2023.
To highlight the scale of increases being made plus justification and reasoning behind key changes, including references to local and regional competitor analysis for benchmarking purposes.
Full background information relating to the recommendations is detailed in the attached Portfolio briefing document.
Full and thorough consideration of the impact of these proposals and alternatives has taken place and the recommendation for the decision should be to implemented should be progressed. (Refer to attached Portfolio briefing document).
The implications are negligible and are unlikely to have any significant influence on customers choice to use the Go Active facilities. The charges are still competitive and despite the increased cost of living, usage and memberships at all Go Active sites have not been impacted by these, as people are valuing the positive impact exercise is having on the health and wellbeing, both physically and mentally.
Impact of changes will be monitored closely via existing performance reporting measures in terms of attendance, membership, revenue monitoring and customer retention and satisfaction levels.
