Article date: 17 April 2023
The data shows a positive picture, with a total of 94.83 per cent awarded their first-choice preference - up from the previous year; 3.77 per cent were given their second choice, while 0.27 per cent were allocated their third choice.
Welcoming the figures, St Helens Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, Councillor Nova Charlton said:
"Every year we work exceptionally hard with our primary schools to ensure that parents and carers are allocated one of their preferences and I'm delighted to see that this is the case for September 2023.
"I would like to say a big thank you to our school admissions team for their extremely hard work over the past few weeks to get the allocation done by the statutory deadline.
"If any parent or guardian has questions about their application, I would ask them to contact the School Admissions Team by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org."
