FROM THE GROUND COMES LIGHT - SECOND NIGHT ADDED!

The initial event, which will take place on Sunday 5th November has now SOLD OUT, less than a week after going on sale. St Helens R.F.C. and St Helens Borough Council have agreed to extend the event into a second night, which will be held the day prior to Bonfire Night - on Saturday 4th November.

St Helens Borough Council Leader, Councillor David Baines, said: "I'm delighted to see the return of From The Ground Comes Light fire and light display at Saints, with this year's spectacle taking place over two nights following a successful sell-out debut event in 2022.

"We know how much our communities value public events like this which the council caters for as much as our tight budgets allow, but in light of an increased demand in statutory services such as adult's and children's social care - made even more challenging by dwindling funding from central government - we've got to start looking at doing things differently and so working in partnership with Saints is the most viable option.

"The Totally Wicked Stadium is one of the best purpose-build rugby league stadiums in the world, geared to hosting a variety of events like music concerts and firework shows like we saw last year, so spectators are certainly in for a spectacular evening of quality entertainment in a safe and controlled environment."

A spokesperson from the Club commented: "We have seen increased demand for tickets since the event was launched last week. With this in mind and working with the Council, we have been able to facilitate a second night, to allow more people to be able to enjoy the event and for us to meet this demand. We have also taken onboard feedback from last year's inaugural event, including around entertainment and the firework display itself, to make the evening even more enjoyable for attendees."

The Saturday event will see a slightly different entertainment line-up, and the Saints kit launch will only be held on the 5th November, but the bulk of the line-up, including the Fire & Light display, will be very similar for both nights.

WHAT IS FROM THE GROUND COMES LIGHT?

The unique event, sponsored by St Helens Council, is an opportunity to watch first-class entertainment within the extensive modern facilities of the Totally Wicked Stadium, all for a great value ticket price geared towards families.

There will again be a packed offering of live entertainment from local artists including dancers, musicians and a DJ as well as the incredible laser light and pyrotechnics display.

Children's entertainment, face painting, inflatables and other activities will take place in the stadium concourses before the main entertainment begins on the pitch.

Due to a large area of the stadium being required for the display and other entertainment, capacity will again be limited to around 5,000 in the South Stand of the Totally Wicked Stadium, meaning this is a fully ticketed event.

The stadium will have an extensive food and drink offering available for attendees from the stadium kiosks.
