School Aged Childcare
Welcome to School Aged Childcare in St Helens
A happy, confident child doesn't stop learning when the school bell rings - and neither does our support for families. In St Helens borough, school age childcare (also known as wraparound care) provides safe, fun, and stimulating environments before and after school, as well as throughout the school holidays.
Whether it's making new friends at an after-school club, enjoying a healthy breakfast before lessons, or taking part in exciting holiday activities, these experiences help children grow in confidence, develop new skills, and feel part of their community.
Supporting your child - and your family
We know family life can be busy. That's why high-quality childcare is here to support you—giving you peace of mind while you work, train, or study, knowing your child is safe, happy, and thriving.
The government is continuing to expand accessible childcare, with the school aged childcare programme.
This includes:
- Wraparound care before and after school
- Free breakfast clubs, helping children start the day ready to learn
- Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programmes, offering fun activities, meals, and childcare during the holidays
