The Staying Home Service is a Torus Initiative that helps their older customers remain independent, stay in control of their lives, and enjoy a better quality of life. They are committed to helping people remain safe, healthy, and happy at home for longer.

How they can help

The Staying Home Service can introduce customers to telephone befriending services, signpost to new hobbies, local events, and social activities. They can also help to complete forms and set up direct debits.

Help at home

The Staying Home Service can help with:

  • claiming housing costs and welfare benefits
  • arranging for mobility aids and property adaptations
  • ensuring the home is safe, warm and in a good state of repair
  • budgeting support and money management
  • filling in forms and setting up direct debits
  • fFinding support for everyday household tasks

Help with health and wellbeing

The Staying Home Service can provide support with:

  • registering with a GP and dentist
  • accessing the NHS and other services
  • referring to occupational therapy
  • getting customers online
  • arranging for volunteer support
  • taking up new hobbies, skills, and socialising

What is the criteria?

  • aged 55 and over
  • Torus tenant
  • owner occupier
  • privately rented tenant
