Who is responsible for what

Parent responsibilities:

• to provide full time suitable education or 25 hours per week
• to ensure your child has access to social activities
• to provide information to the Local Authority detailing the education that you are required to provide, when requested
• to source any specialist SEND support
• to source an examination centre, arrange and fund GCSE examinations with centre

Local Authority Responsibilities:

• to offer advice on the education plan
• to offer an annual home visit
• to support any new school application
• to issue a School Attendance Order if there is no evidence of education
