Earlestown Regeneration Programme

Background

Earlestown Town Centre Regeneration Programme will see the much-loved Grade II listed Earlestown Town Hall brought back into use with the full internal refurbishment and building extension now underway. Works have also commenced to transform the historic Market Square, featuring a new permanent Market Canopy, with wider public realm improvement across the Town Centre.

The overall plans are backed by £20m from the Government Levelling Up Fund and £8m match funding from St Helens Borough Council - which is being delivered in partnership with ECF, a partnership between Homes England, L&G and Muse.

Queen Street

From Monday 1 June 2026, phased works will take place along Queen Street from its junction with Railway Street to is junction with Earle Street/Bridge Street, with temporary road closures implemented as needed and clearly signposted.
