Community support

  • Sexual identity advice - what is sexual orientation? Support with any questions about sexual identity and sexuality.
  • Young People - Support and advice for young people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Trans*, questioning or unsure of their sexuality or gender identity, including Over the Rainbow, a part social, part support group for young people aged 13-19 (and up to 25 with additional need) years.  Over the Rainbow is a closed confidential youth group based in St Helens, Merseyside.
  • Parent and carer support - St Helens Borough NHS support for the parents and carers of LGBTQI+ people.
  • NHS relationship support - for help with advice on healthy relationships and support when relationships break down. 
  • St Helens NHS sexual health (Gum) service - Local NHS contraception and sexual health information and advice.
  • Hate Crime Reporting - Report hate incidents to Stop Hate UK, the independent charity that runs a 24/7 confidential helpline for all victims of hate crime, on 0800 138 1625.
  • Safe2Speak - free, confidential, supportive, informative, non-judgmental and available to anyone experiencing domestic abuse of any kind.
  • Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide - SpeakOUT is a free confidential online peer-support group for anyone who identifies as LGBTQ+ who has lost a loved one to suicide.  SpeakOUT also support the loved ones of an LGBTQ+person who has died by suicide.  Access via email request only - speakout@uksobs.org
