Book a registrar and pay for your ceremony

If you've decided where you'd like to have your ceremony in St Helens, you can make a provisional ceremony booking and pay online.

Please note that a non-refundable, provisional ceremony booking fee of £50 is payable at the time of booking. 

All civil marriages and civil partnerships must be attended by a superintendent registrar and a registrar from the register office of the district in which the ceremony will take place.

Confirmation of your booking

We aim to respond to your provisional booking application within two working days by email. We will check your request against available time slots for your chosen venue. Ceremony times are dependent on the number of bookings made on your chosen date; therefore we cannot guarantee a specific time. You will be advised of your ceremony time by email.

Please note that your provisional booking retains a time slot for a registrar to attend your ceremony only. Your marriage/civil partnership cannot take place until your legal preliminaries (notices) have been given and the final ceremony fees have been paid.

Planning your ceremony

Please complete your Ceremony Planner the form is required by registrars when delivering your ceremony.  You can enhance your ceremony with readings, music, poems, additional vows and symbolic enhancements, make your ceremony your own by making your personal choices from the planner.
