Youth Open Art competition

This annual competition is an amazing opportunity for young people in St Helens Borough to showcase their artistic talents through a collective exhibition. Across St Helens Borough, we understand the value of arts and culture, and so we aim to provide all children and young people with as many opportunities as possible to develop, share and celebrate their creative skills.

As part of St Helens Borough of Culture 2023, CulturEd (St Helens Cultural Education Partnership) will be celebrating the creativity of children and young people by hosting a series of exhibitions in multiple locations across the Borough. The Youth Open Art competition will take place as part of this project. Schools and community groups will be invited to respond to one of the three themes to use as inspiration for creating artwork. This year we have raised the upper age limit to 19 to allow applications from Colleges and Further Education hubs.

Entries are accepted from a wide range of media including paintings, sculptures, mixed media, photography and more, with the prizes categorised by age groups. Entries this year must be submitted via schools, colleges and other education hubs. To find out more please read the Youth Open Art Competition Information Pack 2023 (PDF, 263 KB)
