Eligibility to receive a direct award
Children eligible to receive free school meals:
- A £45 supermarket voucher will be issued for each qualifying child who attended a school or nursery provision within St Helens to cover the Autumn half-term and Christmas holiday periods. A further £45 payment will be made in March 2024 for the Spring half-term and Easter.
- To qualify, a child must be eligible to receive means-tested free school meals or be transitionally protected.
- The voucher will be issued directly by your child's school or nursery provider prior to the end of term.
Help towards additional energy and cost of living costs:
- We will make a direct award of £300 to low-income households in late December 2023 who are ineligible to receive the government's cost of living payment.
